Earthenware From Sho-yo-gama
Shoyogama is a kiln from Tamba Sasayama City in Hyogo Prefecture, with its splendid greenery and scenery that changes with the season. Tamba Sasayama is lined with Tamba-yakipottery kilns.
As one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, Tamba-yaki has supported people's lives for more than 800 years. Tamba-yaki is an earthenware produced from a climbing kiln on the slope of a mountain and has many products that are familiar to people's daily lives.
Shoyogama was founded in 1968 by the first generation, Noboru Ohgami.
While preserving the long-established tradition of Tamba-yaki pottery, the will to continue manufacturing products that constantly offer new proposals for poeple's ever-changing lives has been passed down to the second generation, Yutaka Ohgami, the third generation, yuuki Ohgami.
