Care for Tamba Yaki

A dry pottery absorbs liquid easily and causes stains. As a countermeasure, soak the pottery in running water before using and wipe it lightly, and then place food to prevent stains. 

Use a soft sponge and a mild detergent to hand wash your ceramics. It is important to wash gently with a soft sponge or cloth. Some of our products are dishwasher safe, however hand washing is recommended for longevity of your ceramics. Please air dry them well before storing them in the cupboard. Leaving them moist can cause mould and/or musty odour.

Please refer to each products page and check in advance whether it is compatible with microwave and oven as usage and precautions may differ depending on the ceramic. Also this is very important to remember that sudden changes in temperature such as placing your item from freezer to oven are likely to cause thermal shock, which may result in cracks and breakages. Always place very hot items onto either wood or cloth.
