Japanese wind bells handcrafted by Shoyogama in Tamba-Sasayama in Hyogo, Japan.
Furin is a staple of Japan's long, hot summers, that is a small bell usually found hanging from the balconies and porches of Japanese houses in summer.
These wind chimes can be the best housewarming gift. the sound of furin is so calming and soothing. It is an excellent addition to your house during hot summer season.
Pottery crafts which are produced in Tamba-Sasayama area, is called Tambayaki. As one of six oldest kilns in Japan, it has supported people's lives for more than 800 years. Tambayaki is an earthenware produced from a climbing kiln on the slope of a mountain and has many products that are familiar to people's daily lives, are known of its warm and earthy texture and colour.
Shoyogama was founded in 1968 by the first generation, Noboru Ohgami. While preserving the long-established tradition of Tambayaki pottery, the will to continue manufacturing products that constantly offer new proposals for people's ever-changing lives has been passed down to the second generation, Yutaka Ohgami and the third generation, Yuki Ohgami.

INSTRUCTIONS
*A dry pottery absorbs liquid easily and causes stains. To avoid stains, please soak the pottery in water and wipe it lightly before plating food.
*Even though this product is dishwasher safe and microwave safe, hand washing is preferred and recommended so that you can enjoy it for a long time. Please air dry well before storing it in the cupboard.
