A large serving plate handcrafted by Genuemongama in Tanba-sasayama.
Shinogi technique was used for this plate, which is decorative techniques and applied by skilled craftsmen.
Beautiful earthy design and perfect plate size to place small snacks, a piller candle or jewellery. You will find blue in the white glaze and it looks so beautiful.
Pottery crafts which are produced in Tamba-Sasayama area, is called Tanbayaki. As one of six oldest kilns in Japan, it has supported people's lives for more than 800 years. Tanbayaki is an earthenware produced from a climbing kiln on the slope of a mountain and has many products that are familiar to people's daily lives, are known of its warm and earthy texture and colour.

INSTRUCTIONS
*A dry pottery absorbs liquid easily and causes stains. To avoid stains, please soak the pottery in water and wipe it lightly before plating food.
*Even though this product is dishwasher safe and microwave safe, hand washing is preferred and recommended so that you can enjoy it for a long time. Please air dry well before storing it in the cupboard.
