These are the mizuhiki earrings handmade by AiAii in Awaji island, Hyogo using the codes dyed with 100% natural fermented Indigo Dyeing technique.

Aiaii uses traditional Japanese fermented indigo leaves and all natural ingredients to make different shades of blue, from the palest light blue to deep dark.

They proceed all the process by themselves from growing indigo plants to making indigo dye vat, dyeing fabric and creating cute giftware.

Mizuhiki earrings are such a beautiful gift. The one being created with the code naturally dyed by traditional indigo leaves are even more special!

How to Care for Indigo Product

Natural indigo products can be washed on a cool wash. I recommend that you gently hand wash items with detergent and lukewarm water the first 2-3 times after purchasing. Please use detergent that does not include any whitening or bleaching agents.

Line dry inside out in the shade or indoor is recommended.

Over time the product may change colour little with a repeated washing and wearing like denim jeans.

Try to avoid leaving the products exposed to sunlight in storage. It may fade along creases.

If you keep the products in storage for a long time without washing, it may get a yellow/brown tint. This is a natural result of the lye in the indigo vat. If you soak the product in cold water for up to 24 hours the yellow colour will depart from the item.
